Who knew Chicago was a beach town? Not this southerner. This is my first time in Chicago where I could explore the city…and during the summer this city morphs into any and all ocean towns with all the classic beach fixtures. There were great lunch shacks, ice cream trucks and bikers, dogs fetching balls in the waves of Lake Michigan. An older couple sat today and watched life in Chicago roll and tumble and pedal and splash for hours. Their chairs with umbrellas told me these two knew exactly how to spend a long summer day here in Chicago. What a great American city.
