Spent so much time with my children watching American animation. Like tonight…watching Kung Fu Panda….I bond with my kids sewing memories with this new storytelling. It’s not theology or astrology or a Victorian classic, but it’s reality, today.
The truth is we have dumbed down our intellectual pursuits so more of us can have more, more luxuries or “life style”. Of course, I’m referring to the industrial revolution creating a vacuum in the laborers life: work for leisure. And due to that increased pursuit, arose the industry of entertainment.
I’m grateful for the time I have spent with my children and Kung Fu Panda. Every era has it’s good and it’s bad. This is just different. It isn’t the intellectual endeavors other cultures through out history with the ability and time might impart but it is of the time. Centuries will tell the rest of the tale. Whether our culture has neglected our duty to grow our minds or if mass cultural assimilation has far greater results and impact on humans worldwide that none have us have dreamed, positive, negative, different. However, it’s something very new. Something, we should think upon. Something, if we all begin to observe and discuss, that ramification can be mitigated or benefits can be better utilized. Or perhaps, it’s just a silly noodle cup that I made for my kids. Sorry, you cannot have one. Not my ideas to sell.
