When i went to do a female fight cup CUP#14, the topographer in me (worked with fonts for over three decades), wanted an icon for what it meant to celebrate being female. The exclamation point was perfect. I choose a curvy font mimicing the physical shape, and TAD... ! I had a new symbol ti use in my work.

The next CUP#39 was about a long fought internal challenge most women battle due to preconceived cultural ideals, that women are cute (kittens) and or sexy (playboy rabbits). They are helpless with bows in their hair and need saving. Remember the damsel in distress on the rail road ties who needs to be saved by the man. How the silly voice and bow on head transforms into a bow necktie and a deep masculine voice. Oh...there are so many... so, I used the exclaimation points again. This time parodying the cute, helpless, sexy, possibly dense creature women have been compared or embodied as.

CUP#44 was an instant leap when the two concepts merged in my thoughts. For a decade maybe more...i’ve been morphing synchronized females to create the flower. This cup is a small tale of female flower power.
