In Costa Rica there is a man who goes by the name Fuck You Eric. It’s Eric’s catch phrase and he jovially shouts his favorite greeting to friends who joyfully reciprocate, “Fuck You!” It was an ode to freedom not conflict. Of course, I thought...great cup, but something didn’t sit right. I didn’t want to mimic Eric so I could report upon him. Not that it’s bad, it just wasn’t me. However, today as I woke up and the COVID cloud had lifted and my spirit for life came bounding back, I was exuberant. 13 days Iv’e been in bed or on my couch exhausted, but the crisp clarity of being healthy was palatable. I was done. I was free. A sense of accomplishment bloomed and a quite, sassy farewell to any thing that tries to take me out.
