Today I was messaged by Robert Silvia to stop spreading my socialist lies. This was in direct response to my feelings about Trickle-Down Economics in Cup #62. I’m anything but a socialist. I was analyzing a taxation policy that has led to undesirable compounding capital division. In fact, to believe in governance and taxation to insure it, you are a capitalist. The debate on taxation has been going on since the Middle Ages, it’s far from socialist! Scratch that...the Romans taxed too.
If someone wants to discuss social efforts the people of a democracy vote on and institute into law than they should know their definitions. But the confusion about socialism is not without reason. Republicans want their voters confused and fearful of the Boogie Man. I prefer educated—or willingness to be—regardless of political bent.
