Moth wars. During my 365 days/365 coffee cup project, I ran into a commendable opponent, the pantry moth. After my disgust and anger passed at having an invader, I was struck by the utter resilience and determination this creature has. In fact, the moth, is freaking beautiful. In my effort to reconcile my tamed and domesticated self, I celebrated the insect. Took the time to find dozens a of intoxicating flying insects. True, the ones depicted in Moth Wars are super models compared to the pantry moth—and I did find myself having moth envy—yet, that’s not the point. The art is an effort to find tolerance, and I found some. Perhaps…the pantry moth will take pity on me.
